Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanic to join our team at Travis Motor Group. As a key member of our Frankston hub, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and vehicle quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, to enhance vehicle performance and ensure compliance with emission standards.
  • Repair or replace worn or damaged parts, reassemble mechanical components, and consult service manuals as necessary.
  • Diagnose and identify mechanical and electrical issues in engines and components.
  • Disassemble and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other parts, then inspect each component.
  • Reassemble engines and components after repairs.
  • Test and adjust mechanical parts after repairs to ensure proper operation.
  • Utilize computers to assist in diagnosing and testing components.
  • Inspect vehicles to issue roadworthiness certificates or outline necessary repairs for compliance.
  • Respond promptly to vehicle breakdown calls for on-site service.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and computerized testing devices.
  • Knowledge of working with fluid-powered brakes, steering, and suspension systems.
  • Ability to accurately identify mechanical or electrical issues.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum education: Certificate IV in Automotive or higher.
  • At least 2 years of full-time experience in a related field.
