Indian Cuisine Specialist

Sankalp Melbourne is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our team. As part of the renowned Sankalp Group, we pride ourselves on delivering authentic Indian cuisine, showcasing rich and diverse flavors to the heart of Melbourne. Our menu is crafted with high-quality ingredients and traditional recipes that reflect the true essence of Indian dining.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a range of authentic Indian dishes with a focus on taste, quality, and presentation.
  • Assist in menu development, enhancing the flavors and diversity of Indian cuisine offerings.
  • Uphold kitchen hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
  • Oversee food preparation and portion control to maintain consistency across all dishes.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is well-maintained and report any issues for prompt repair or replacement.
  • Follow and enforce proper food handling and hygiene practices.
  • Contribute to menu planning for special events and seasonal dishes.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss menu updates and service improvements.
  • Maintain timeliness in preparing dishes, especially during peak service periods, while ensuring top quality.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef, preferably in Indian cuisine.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional Indian cooking techniques, spices, and ingredients.
  • Diploma in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A deep passion for Indian food and a drive for continuous culinary learning and innovation.
