As a dedicated nursing professional in mental health, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the well-being of individuals with acute and chronic mental health needs.

This role is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient-centered care, support patients and families in decision-making and advocacy, and contribute to clinical quality, safety, and improvement initiatives.

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with minimum 3 years' experience in mental health nursing who possesses strong clinical and risk management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and can work effectively in a private hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient-centred care plans.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions and treatment progress.

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of 3 years' mental health nursing experience.
  • Strong clinical and risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a private hospital setting with professionalism and teamwork.

Desirable qualifications include experience in drug and alcohol nursing, previous private mental health hospital experience, and confidence in patient advocacy and communicating risks.
