About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our ALS Environmental team in Springvale. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our environmental testing services.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze water and soil samples in accordance with ALS Quality Work instructions.
- Ensure that all preparation and analytical work is conducted to the highest standards.
- Report any anomalies in results and sample type/behavior.
- Organize tasks to maximize daily efficiencies and complete tasks within assigned timeframes.
- Operate sample preparation equipment and undertake consumable stocktakes and housekeeping.
- Participate in cross-training to accommodate variable workflow and staff on leave.
- Contribute to a clean, safe, and organized lab environment.
Requirements
- TAFE or University qualifications are required.
- Experience in a high-throughput, client-focused environment is preferred but not essential.
- Attention to detail, self-management, and organizational skills are essential.
- Sound judgment and effective problem-solving skills are required.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to work well independently or collaboratively in a team.
- Dedication to good laboratory practices with regard to quality of results and health and safety.
- Flexibility to work public holidays, afternoon, and weekend shifts.
