We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lab Director in Histocompatibility to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for advancing the operations of our HLA laboratory, ensuring the delivery of high-quality laboratory services aligned with ASHI standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop comprehensive testing systems to ensure highest laboratory quality standards across all testing phases.
- Achieve established turnaround times for lab results, supporting critical patient care and clinical decision-making.
You will lead efforts to drive innovation in immunogenetics and histocompatibility research, designing and developing cutting-edge projects that contribute to scientific knowledge and clinical practice. Additionally, you will oversee the validation of advanced testing procedures, ensuring new methodologies meet clinical service standards locally and nationally.
Clinical Expertise & Problem Resolution:- Review and oversight of clinical reports, addressing complex or atypical cases with precision.
- Continuous professional development through engagement with latest scientific research, conference presentations, and participation in national and international workshops.
- Foster a culture of excellence by providing effective leadership, motivating, developing, and recognizing technical staff.
- Ensure compliance with ASHI standards by facilitating ongoing education and competency assessments for lab staff.
You will also lead special projects aimed at enhancing test procedures, techniques, and reagent development, driving continuous improvement initiatives that may expand the laboratory's clinical service offerings.
Operational Leadership & Policy Development:- Establish and refine laboratory policies, ensuring alignment with broader organizational practices.
- Actively pursue new business opportunities, including securing contracts and expanding lab services, while cultivating partnerships with area and national hospitals.
This role requires a strong background in histocompatibility and immunogenetics, with expertise in areas such as HLA Serology and Molecular Genetics, Platelet Serology, and Flow Cytometry Crossmatch Techniques. You must have excellent customer service skills, a commitment to maintaining a positive and professional image, and a focus on detail, accuracy, and efficiency in both scientific and customer-facing responsibilities.
