About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highways Supervisor to join our Operations Team at Dyer & Butler. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of our highway maintenance services.
Key Responsibilities- Service Delivery: Ensure that all services are delivered in line with contract requirements and to the satisfaction of our clients and their customers.
- Work Planning and Execution: Ensure that all work allocated is appropriately programmed, planned, supervised, and executed in accordance with specifications, drawings, dimensions, and within agreed commercial limits.
- Operational Efficiency: Continually focus on operational gross margins of all work delivered, from pre-works planning to on-site supervision.
- Health and Safety: Be responsible for the day-to-day health and safety of directly employed staff and supply chain partners.
- Team Management: Provide training, development, and encouragement to staff and operatives to ensure all works are resourced with sufficiently competent and motivated resources.
- Communication: Ensure a regular timetable of internal communication with staff and operatives for which you are responsible.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively promote continuous improvement within the depot.
- Emergency Response: Partake in emergency and winter maintenance call-out rotas.
- Resource Management: Resource appropriate and adequate internal and supply chain resources to deliver the workload in a safe, efficient, and profitable manner.
- Experience: Experience in construction delivery and workforce supervision, preferably within the highway maintenance industry.
- Commercial Acumen: Commercially driven to capture working cost efficiencies, cost control, and saving money wherever possible for the mutual benefit of the client and Dyer & Butler.
- Leadership Skills: Effective team management, leadership, motivational, and influencing skills to get the best from everyone.
- Customer Focus: Excellent customer skills and the ability to demonstrate influencing in all situations.
- Technical Skills: Good general IT skills, ideally proficient in Microsoft Office products.
