Safety and Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our team at Grace Worldwide. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, customers, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide health and safety advice, guidance, and support to management and staff.
- Develop and implement safety training programs to instruct employees in general safe work practices and specific instruction on hazards relative to our industry.
- Ensure performance objectives/outcomes are achieved within agreed time frames.
- Mentor managers to ensure all staff and branches operate in accordance with WHS compliance, providing coaching, training, guidance, effective communication, and timely reporting in all areas of Workplace Health and Safety.
- Work with staff to ensure safety is a priority in business and day-to-day operations.
- Monitor and work with branch managers to ensure they cultivate their branches and personnel in delivering a safe work environment for all.
- Conduct weekly analysis of incident trends, monitor safety performance, and report any adverse trends immediately to Management.
- Lead the process of incident investigations and ensure there are appropriate strategies to Return to Work.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work with business leaders to develop specific preventative strategies to mitigate reoccurrence.
- Oversee and ensure compliance to Fleet Services and Maintenance Program. Identify and report on issues of non-compliance where the high standard of fleet and brand image of vehicles and equipment is not maintained.
- Conduct internal audits of our branches to ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Identify any operational inefficiencies and opportunities during audits whereby branches may add value and productivity improvement to their business outcomes.
- Willingness and ability to travel interstate when required.
- Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety, Risk Management (or working towards) or similar is required, Workplace Train the Trainer qualifications (highly desirable).
- At least 2 years' experience working in a safety role, ideally within a blue-collar environment.
- Research and analyse activities to identify and address WHS risks.
- A team player with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively deal with ambiguity and complex scenarios.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, professionalism, and pride in their work.
- Think strategically and provide guidance and direction to the business. This includes identifying opportunities for improvement, developing strategies to achieve business objectives, and providing innovative solutions.
- Passionate about achieving great results, enjoys measuring the success of projects and analysing how to improve next time.
- Highly organised, outstanding time management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
- Confidence dealing with all levels of Management and Directors.
- Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Excel.
- The ability to explain complex regulations in a clear and concise way.
- A proactive and problem-solving approach with excellent time management skills.
