Senior Metallurgist - Technical ProjectsNyrstar, a global multi-metals business, is seeking a Senior Metallurgist to join its Technical Projects team. As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for managing and championing technical studies, assisting with complex projects, and providing expert advice to operations teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and advice to operations teams based on sound literature, data, and process knowledge.
- Manage studies and projects through the concept, feasibility, and commissioning stages, ensuring timely and budget-friendly completion.
- Collaborate with senior personnel to ensure projects are completed within agreed timeframes and budgets.
- Develop business cases and concepts for future developments to de-bottleneck the site.
- Commission pilot/trial strategic projects with operational Principal/Senior Metallurgists.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a hands-on plant-based Chemical Engineering role.
- Experience in a similar project role is highly regarded.
- Superior skills with Microsoft Excel are essential.
- Experience in the mining/resources industry or chemical production facilities is highly regarded.
