Pharmacist Trainee

This is a temporary full-time position that offers pre-registration training and ensures the capacity to provide appropriately trained hospital pharmacists to fill positions in NSW hospital needs areas.

• Assist pharmacists and support staff in the provision of pharmacy services at Blue Mountains Hospital under the supervision of registered pharmacists.
• Gain experience in all aspects of the pharmacy service including medication dispensing, drug information and education, clinical pharmacy, taking best possible medication histories, preparing medication management plans, ward stock distribution, and inventory control.

• Effective communication and time management skills, demonstrated from a work environment with preference to pharmacy-related activities.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Commitment to continuing education and training outside regular university training.
• Eligibility to undertake a period of supervised practice as a pharmacy intern according to the requirements of the Pharmacy Board of Australia and evidence of enrolment in a Pharmacy Board-approved Intern Training Program prior to commencement of the internship.
• Initiative and ability to solve work-related problems independently or exceed expectations of current employer(s).
• Completed placement or work-related experience in a NSW hospital.
• Detailed evidence of current university course attainment in the application.
