Job Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified individual to assist in the collection of map data across multiple states. This involves walking prearranged geographical routes equipped with a sensor in a backpack, scanning and collecting data on the geography and route.

You will retrieve and transport the unit to assigned outdoor areas to walk/map. A typical day consists of walking 12-15 kilometers in an 8-hour period. The main pack with sensor equipment weighs approximately 17-18 kgs, while the support pack weighs around 8 kgs. You will work in a 2-person team, alternating packs throughout the day.

This data collection project will take place in and around various cities within Australia, starting from Sydney. Once the team finishes collection in one city, you will travel with the team to the next scheduled city until all cities are collected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand physical security protocols
  • Be polite and courteous in public interactions
  • Follow security procedures to safeguard equipment
  • Read and understand instructions
  • Report issues with collection equipment
  • Some weekend work may be required

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with iOS devices and troubleshooting
  • Basic use of Microsoft Office/365
  • Previous experience in mapping or related fields (a plus)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Prioritize and multitask
  • Deadline-oriented and detail-focused
  • Good physical condition with stamina for long periods of walking
