About the Role

Mining Engineers at MACA Mining Pty Ltd play a critical role in the success of our surface mining projects. We are seeking experienced professionals to join our project teams, assisting with mine scheduling and planning to meet client requirements and MACA production rates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers to develop and implement mine plans, methods, design, materials handling, and cost analysis.
  • Provide ongoing development of mine plans, methods, design, materials handling, and cost analysis.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of advanced mine design work.
  • Assist with contract management and produce monthly progress claims.
  • Contribute to the design of drill and blast patterns and ensure drill and blast processes are efficient and cost-effective.
  • Provide technical input into planning and coordinating blasting activities.
  • Review drill and blast claims, sub-contractor claims, and drill and blast design.
  • Mentor graduate engineers and provide training to other personnel.
  • Develop professional relationships with clients and site personnel.
  • Provide specialist technical input into team project work and evaluate reserve resource estimates.
  • Liaise with management regarding new technology on heavy equipment and implement changes as needed.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement and innovation of MACA work practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Engineering) degree.
  • Sound knowledge of plant and equipment best practice and operational performance.
  • Knowledge of the Mines & Safety Inspection Act and Regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse and show initiative, meeting deadlines.
  • A strong commitment to safety in the workplace.
  • Current drivers' licence (desirable).
  • Advanced computer literacy with experience using Microsoft Office suite.
