We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced pharmacist to join our team as a Medication Safety Specialist. This is a fixed-term, part-time position that will play a critical role in ensuring the safe use of medications across our health service.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Medication Safety Strategies
- Design and implement system-based quality improvement initiatives to reduce the risk of medication-related harm
- Monitor and evaluate medication safety systems through audit and incident report investigation, analysis, and reporting
- Provide Medication Safety Education and Training
- Develop and deliver medication safety-related training and education programs for clinicians and consumers
- Collaborate with Stakeholders
- Work closely with clinicians, consumers, and other stakeholders to achieve desired medication safety outcomes
- Qualifications and Experience
- Current general registration as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- At least 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience, including broad exposure to the medication management pathway
- Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage time to deliver outcomes to agreed timelines
