About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team at Pitcher Partners. As a key member of our Family Office team, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end bookkeeping requirements for a portfolio of clients, including problem-solving accounting and technology issues and assisting clients with cloud-based application solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bank Reconciliations: Prepare and complete bank reconciliations for clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Accounting Software: Code bank transactions into various accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks, and MYOB.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to junior bookkeepers in the team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Payment Runs: Prepare and review payment runs for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • General Ledger Management: Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts for clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Loan Transactions: Enter and reconcile loan transactions within family groups, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Share and Property Portfolio: Record and reconcile share and property portfolio movements for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • BAS/IAS: Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Income Tax Assessment (IAS) for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Client Premises: Attend client premises as required, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring client needs are met.
Requirements
  • Accounting Qualification: Hold an accounting or bookkeeping qualification, such as a Certificate IV in Accounting or a Bachelor of Accounting.
  • Experience: Have experience working in a professional services firm, preferably in a bookkeeping or accounting role.
  • Technical Skills: Be proficient in accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks, and MYOB, and have a strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
  • Attention to Detail: Have a high attention to detail and be able to ensure accuracy and completeness in all aspects of the role.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to effectively communicate with clients and team members.
