Job Description

Fairbridge Village is a unique holiday destination featuring 30 heritage listed cottages amidst beautiful bushland. The grounds include a range of facilities such as a swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, and beach volleyball courts.

Our village operates a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and Fairbridge College, a multi-campus secondary school for Youth-at-Risk. Our vision is to empower young people for a better future.

Task Responsibilities

We are seeking an all-round handyman to maintain the grounds of Fairbridge village while mentoring youth in grounds and landscape as they complete their apprenticeships, traineeships, and work experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Sourcing tools and materials as required and ensuring storage compliance.
  • Maintaining lawns to ensure a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Pruning and weeding regularly to promote healthy growth.
  • Selecting and planting flowers, shrubs, and trees that enhance the aesthetic appeal of the grounds.
  • Repairing and maintaining sprinkler systems to ensure proper water distribution.
  • Carrying out minor repairs to fences to ensure they are secure, aesthetically pleasing, and structurally sound.
  • Mentoring and empowering at-risk youth to achieve their training outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A high level of communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High-level time management and organisational skills.
  • The ability to give instructions and carry out tasks effectively.
  • Physical fitness, including the ability to lift, carry, bend, and squat.
  • The ability to work in a team and independently.
  • High initiative and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with youth and in grounds and maintenance.
