We are seeking an exceptional Pet Training Specialist to work on a casual basis in our North Parramatta store.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Passion for animal behaviour and training, with positive reinforcement-based training experience or qualifications highly regarded.
  • A strong commitment to the care and well-being of pets.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • High integrity, motivation, and a proactive approach to work.
  • Composure under stress and pressure.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with clients of all pet experience levels.
  • Ideal candidates will have some retail experience working with high-volume retailers.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to work within a team.
  • Animal studies qualifications will be highly valued.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and improvement in science-based animal training.

Your primary role will involve delivering dog training classes and one-on-one dog training sessions. Initial onboarding will include retail training and store procedures, as well as in-depth training on our Pet School classes and operations.

You must be reliable, determined to meet high standards, flexible regarding working days and hours, and able to work unsupervised. You must also be willing to work weekends.

As part of your responsibilities, you must be physically fit and capable of handling dogs of all sizes, up to 20kg in weight. You may be required to lift heavy items such as bags of dog food. In addition, you will likely work with species other than dogs in the future, including kittens, cats, and aquatic animals.
