Job Summary

EBR is seeking an experienced Ecological Specialist to join their diverse, vibrant, and high-performing ecology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking desktop and field-based terrestrial biodiversity assessments, providing advice on environmental designs, and preparing biodiversity offset strategies and monitoring reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct desktop and field-based terrestrial biodiversity assessments to identify and mitigate potential environmental impacts.
  • Provide expert advice on environmental designs, including fauna connectivity structures, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement biodiversity offset strategies to minimize environmental impacts.
  • Prepare high-quality monitoring reports to track and evaluate the effectiveness of biodiversity offset strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure seamless delivery of projects.
  • Develop the skills of less senior staff to enhance their knowledge and expertise.

Requirements

  • BAM accredited assessor with experience in NSW undertaking biodiversity assessments.
  • Expertise and confidence in the identification of NSW vegetation communities.
  • A desire to grow, lead, and develop people within the organization.
  • An appreciation of commercial risk management in the consulting industry.
  • Current driver's license.
