Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in the underwriting field
  • Comprehensive knowledge of underwriting procedures, standards, and compliance regulations
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude

  • Understanding of the business and technical aspects of the products and services offered by the company
Key Responsibilities
  • Assessing new business applications to identify risk factors and appropriately price insurance policies
  • Reviewing and analyzing e-commerce merchant applications
  • Evaluating the products and services provided by the merchant, along with their online presence and reputation
  • Analyzing business models and recommending criteria and underwriting processes for new sectors
  • Assessing the financial status of merchants
  • Establishing merchant collateral to reduce financial risk
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry regulations and standards
  • Reviewing applications and collaborating with clients to collect additional information/documentation as necessary
  • Investigating claims history to ascertain if claims were previously filed or if there are signs of fraudulent behavior
  • Working with internal teams to enhance underwriting processes
