Main Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough research on family history collections and archives, utilizing genealogical resources and databases to uncover hidden connections.
- Analyze historical documents and provide expert advice to patrons, interpreting data and evidence to reconstruct family histories.
- Develop and deliver educational programs on family history research methods and techniques, equipping patrons with the skills necessary to navigate complex family trees.
- Collaborate with other library staff to develop new initiatives and services that enhance the patron experience and promote family history research.
- Advanced degree in a relevant field such as history, genealogy, or archival studies, demonstrating a strong foundation in research methods and theoretical frameworks.
- Proven research skills and experience working with historical documents, including manuscripts, photographs, and other primary sources.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with patrons and colleagues alike.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
