As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and effective nursing care to individuals experiencing mental health problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Practice and promote safe, efficient, and effective nursing care for people experiencing mental health problems, adhering to current National practice standards for mental health, current standards of nursing practices, and current Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures.
  • Work across all components of the mental health service, including inpatient and community-based services, and be able to adapt to changing priorities and demands.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and plan care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Current Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated nursing skills, knowledge, and ability relevant to the mental health service.
  • Demonstrated clinical problem-solving skills to maximize patient care.
  • Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate patient care in a multidisciplinary team environment, providing outcome-based care.
  • Participation in a seven-day rotating roster, including public holidays and night duty.
