Job Description

We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer with expertise in designing battery energy storage systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and be comfortable designing the electrical layout of BESS products, ensuring compliance and site installation compatibility.

The selected candidate will work collaboratively with other design engineers on core BESS elements, taking the lead to design required electrical solutions. They will also play a key role in the design and build of internal microgrids and test environments, including 3-phase loads and PV inputs.

  • Designing AC voltage equipment and wiring for BESS products.
  • Creating and supporting micro grids, loads and other test environments.
  • Providing specialized engineering support in power electronics for battery management.
  • Supporting product requirements.
  • Maintaining suitable documentation of work conducted.
  • Undertaking ad-hoc engineering tasks as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Must-Have Experience:

  1. Bachelor/Masters/PhD in electrical engineering or electrician's license.
  2. Experience in BESS (or similar) product creation and/or installation.
  3. Knowledge of microgrids and microgrid controllers.
  4. In-depth knowledge of LV switchgear, including selection.
  5. Familiarity with key electrical standards such as AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, and AS/NZS 4836.
