Estimator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at Public Sector People.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality estimates and quotation documentation for building projects, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and client requirements.
  • Undertake research and development in project planning, budgeting, estimating, programming, delivery processes, and procurement practices.
  • Report on relevant estimating projects and/or programs, providing information on volume, requests, clients, locations, acceptance rates, costs, schedule of rates, margins, and productivity.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles.
  • Enhance client relationships through effective communication, sound negotiation, and the provision of timely, professional, competitive estimates.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to apply best estimating practices, interpret, plan, and prepare accurate building estimates.
  • Working knowledge of contemporary estimating methods used in the building, construction, and maintenance industry, including associated legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using estimating software and computer packages.
