
Youth Development Educator

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team in supporting the growth and development of primary school-age children at our Out-of-School-Hours (OSH) services.
About Your Role:As a casual educator, you will be responsible for providing engaging activities that foster creativity, imagination, and social skills in young people. You will work closely with parents, teachers, and other educators to design inclusive programs that cater to diverse needs and interests.
You will also play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children within our care, maintaining high standards of safeguarding and adhering to our organisation's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement engaging programs for primary school-age children, promoting their cognitive, emotional, and social development;
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver program materials, ensuring alignment with curriculum objectives and learning outcomes;
- Provide guidance and support to children, addressing their individual needs and fostering a positive learning environment;
- Work effectively with parents and caregivers to build strong relationships and ensure seamless transitions between home and OSH environments;
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, contributing to the continuous improvement of our services.
- Experience working with children in an educational or community setting, with a focus on youth development and welfare;
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity;
- Sound understanding of child protection principles and practices, with a commitment to safeguarding and preventing harm;
- Current First Aid certification (HLTAID012 - Provide an emergency response in an education and care setting) and ability to respond to emergencies in accordance with our organisation's procedures;
- Valid Working with Children Check and Police Check (paid for by the organisation);
- Availability to work a minimum of 3 days per week, with flexibility to accommodate changing schedules and priorities.
