Vessel Captain

The Vessel Master plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day safe and efficient operation of our vessels and their crew. The Vessel Master is responsible for navigation, crew leadership, safety drills, and management systems as well as reporting requirements. Clear communication, physical fitness, and the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines are paramount in the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of vessels and their crew
• Lead and manage a team of crew members
• Develop and implement safety drills and management systems
• Report on vessel operations and crew performance
• Collaborate with other departments to achieve company goals

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vessel Master to join our team at SeaLink Northern Territory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maritime operations, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of ensuring safe and efficient vessel operations.

Requirements:

• AMSA issued Master V (24m NC) /MED 2 certifications
• Proven track record of excellent customer service
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• Knowledge of safety and maritime obligations
• Senior First Aid
• Drivers Licence/Ochre Card/Police Clearance
• Physical fitness and the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines

With 3 vessels and over 20 staff, SeaLink Northern Territory is a prominent ferry and tour operator in the region, operating daily 13 daily services to Mandorah and 3 services a week to the Tiwi Islands.
