Aboriginal Environmental Health Officer Trainee

We are seeking an Aboriginal Environmental Health Officer Trainee to join our dynamic Environment & Health business unit at Goulburn Mulwaree Council.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect swimming pools, food, skin penetration, and other businesses to ensure compliance with health and environmental regulations.
- Respond to enquiries and investigate complaints related to environmental health.
- Sample water and undertake mosquito monitoring to identify potential health risks.
- Educate people on how to protect their health and the environment.
- Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by descent and identity, recognized by the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community.
- Be able to successfully enroll in the Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) at Western Sydney University.
- Hold a current Class C Driver's Licence.
- Study a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) degree at Western Sydney University by distance part-time and attend workshops.
- Have paid study leave and tutoring.
- Have university fees paid for all subjects passed.
- Have structured on-the-job training.
- Be part of the Aboriginal Environmental Health Officer trainee network.

- Work a 35-hour week over a 9-day fortnight.
