Job Summary

The Specialist, Audit Services, APAC is a key member of our APAC Audit Services Team, responsible for coordinating, overseeing, and executing successful audit engagements, with a primary focus on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crime (FinCrime).

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with the global AML and FinCrime audit team to identify risks and execute internal audits in line with the internal audit plan.
  2. Contribute to the evolution of the AML and FinCrime internal audit strategy, including risk assessment and coverage strategy.
  3. Provide strategic thinking, thought leadership, and guidance on identifying key risks and assessing the design and operating effectiveness of controls supporting AML and FinCrime activities.
  4. Plan, oversee, and direct AML and FinCrime audit activities in APAC to achieve the goals of the AML and FinCrime audit strategy.
  5. Establish strong working relationships and communications with key stakeholders in APAC.
  6. Maintain active involvement with executive, oversight, and steering committees, as required.
  7. Support interaction with APAC regulators, as needed.
  8. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all audit reports and findings.
  9. Monitor progress and budget for assigned internal audits, escalating significant budget variances.
  10. Review work of junior members, ensuring auditing standards and department methodology expectations are met.
  11. Stay up-to-date on regulatory developments and industry trends, contributing to continuous monitoring and knowledge sharing efforts.
  12. Assist in preparing presentations for the Board, Audit Committee, and senior management, as required.
Requirements
  1. Significant AML and Financial Crime subject matter expertise gained in a financial services environment.
  2. Professional certifications, such as ACAMS, CPA, CIA, ACA, or ACCA, are preferred.
  3. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines relating to AML and FinCrime in Australia and/or the APAC region.
  4. Strong analytical, leadership, and organizational skills.
  5. Able to work in a hybrid and global environment.
  6. Strong report writing and workpaper documentation skills.
  7. Project management and time management skills.
  8. Ability to manage and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  9. Team player.
