Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Speech Pathologist Level 3 to join our team at NSW Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide senior speech pathology clinical services within the Southern Area Brain Injury Service (SABIS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment, intervention, and consultation services to adult and pediatric clients with complex communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to optimize client outcomes and improve quality of life.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to clients and their families.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide education and training to clients, families, and healthcare professionals on communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to speech pathology services.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology with eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Extensive experience in rehabilitation with a well-developed knowledge of brain injury services and ability to work with minimal supervision as a collaborative member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent negotiation, decision-making, and advocacy skills, including collaborative stakeholder consultation.
  • Demonstrated high-level organizational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical/administrative demands, with an ability to independently problem-solve and set priorities in complex situations.
  • Ability to initiate, lead, complete, and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes with other staff.
  • Ability to provide case management for people with complex needs in community settings.
  • Evidence of a current unrestricted driver's license and the ability to maintain.
  • Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires, which may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
