Network Connectivity Support Specialist

A prestigious Financial Services provider is seeking a skilled Network Connectivity Support Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis.

This role will involve supporting the software and hardware of a large number of external clients, who connect to their systems via gateways and various products/services. The company is about to embark on a large network refresh program, which will require the successful candidate to visit client sites to decommission end-of-life network devices and install/configure and test new network devices.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in networking, including routers, switches, firewalls, and a strong understanding of various network protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.). They will also have experience working in a data centre environment and/or visiting client sites, as well as advanced knowledge of TCP/IP and ITSM.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and responding to alerts, troubleshooting network access issues, installing/configuring network devices, and updating patches and delivering new services for clients. They will also need to have excellent customer service skills, combined with the ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications with relevant industry certifications (i.e. CCNA)
  • Proven experience working in a Network Administration/Field Services capacity
  • Solid background in networking with understanding of various network protocols
  • Previous experience working in a data centre environment and/or visiting client sites
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP
  • Understanding of ITSM
  • Exceptional customer service and stakeholder engagement skills combined with strong communication skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Please note that this role is a Tuesday-Saturday role based in Sydney's North Shore (three days per week in the office).
