Senior Tax Accountant

As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting VGW with corporate, transfer pricing, remuneration, and indirect tax compliance matters across various jurisdictions. You will also assist with the Group's global tax compliance filings and reporting obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance

  • Prepare company tax returns and tax effect accounting calculations for Australia and overseas jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate half-yearly and yearly income tax provision calculations for consolidated financial reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of various taxation filings, including BAS, IAS, withholding tax, and indirect taxes applicable domestically and overseas.
  • Assist with remuneration tax and FBT matters, including preparing the FBT return.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external advisers.
  • Effectively advise and influence internal and external stakeholders on tax implications and strategies.

Continuous Learning

  • Stay up-to-date on emerging tax trends, changes in regulations, and industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary education in related fields (Commerce, Business, Finance, Accounting).
  • Experience in an accounting or professional services firm and/or corporate in-house tax compliance.
  • Completed or nearly completed CA or CPA, or other qualified professional with tax compliance experience.
  • Strong understanding of Australian income tax, FBT, and GST legislation.
  • Good tax effect accounting knowledge.
  • Corporate tax technical skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Exposure to transfer pricing, indirect tax, and remuneration tax would be beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
