Electrical Systems Specialist

Seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to support the design, installation and maintenance of industrial electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and interpret electrical diagrams, layout plans and technical drawings for installations and circuitry.
  • Assist in the design and development of electrical installations across substations, switchgear, cabling and motor control systems.
  • Install, wire, commission, test, calibrate and service industrial electrical equipment to meet safety and performance standards.
  • Conduct inspections, troubleshoot faults and adjust systems to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and specifications.
  • Collect and analyze data from electrical systems, perform complex calculations and prepare detailed reports and charts to support reliability assessments.
  • Estimate material requirements and costs to support project planning and budgeting.
  • Support engineers and technologists with field setup, testing and research programs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, system configurations and materials used.
  • Undertake workshop duties including assembly and installation of protection relays, metering and indicating devices.
  • Provide technical support both on-site and within workshop environments, working independently and collaboratively as needed.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field, or at least 3 years' practical experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical control panels, circuitry and safety protocols.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in both field and workshop settings with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail in documentation.
  • Current full driver's license requires.
