About the Role
  • The General Services Manager plays a critical leadership role overseeing non-clinical aspects including catering, cleaning, laundry, and maintenance services.
  • This position contributes to enhancing the overall quality of life and well-being of residents and ensures a smooth operation of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
  • Catering and Dining Services: Manage the catering department by ensuring the provision of nutritious and balanced meals according to resident dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Environmental Management: Oversee a team of cleaners and laundry attendants to maintain hygienic, clean, and exceptional standards.
  • Maintenance Management: Ensure timely repair and maintenance services meet and exceed resident expectations.
  • Service Providers Management: Manage external contractors to ensure compliance with legislative and contractual requirements.
  • Extra Services Management: Develop and manage additional services aligning with Arcare's offerings, resident expectations, and contractual obligations.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage budgets for assigned areas, focusing on cost-effectiveness and resource allocation.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and lead non-clinical staff, providing training, performance evaluations, and staff development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Ability to motivate and lead teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the aged care industry, including regulations, compliance requirements, best practices, and emerging trends.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing staff in Aged Care or a similar industry.
