About the Opportunity

Lithgow City Council is seeking a skilled and dedicated Casual Lifeguard to join their team at the Aquatic Centre in Lithgow, NSW.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise patrons using the facility, ensuring a high level of safety and care for the community.
  • Maintain the centre's cleanliness, tidiness, and aesthetic appeal.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with the Centre's Operations Manual.
  • Implement the centre's Emergency Action Plan in emergency situations, including providing first aid when necessary.
  • Be responsible for equipment maintenance, storage area cleanliness, and setting up/packing away equipment as required.
  • Ensure children under the age of 5 are within arm's reach of a parent or guardian at all times.
Requirements
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate.
  • Current Working with Children Check (if over 18).
  • Demonstrated commitment to WHS procedures.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of integrity and honesty.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Bronze Medallion.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Aqua Aerobics Certification.
  • Certificate III in Fitness.
  • Austswim Learn to Swim Course qualifications.
  • Certificate III in Aquatics (SIS30110).
  • Chemical Handling course.
  • Previous experience working in a public pool.

  • A competitive hourly rate between $17.77 and $37.21, commensurate with age, skills, qualifications, and experience.
