Job Title: Senior Cloud Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based production systems and services.

You will provide technical advice, guidance, and mentorship to other engineers within the organization. You will also act as a technical expert in cloud engineering and drive the adoption of best practices.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Effectively delivering on requirements, ensuring the agreed outcomes are achieved within determined timeframes.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain cloud solutions that are resilient, scalable, and secure.
  • Contributing to the design and management of cloud infrastructures through CI/CD pipelines and automation.
  • Advocating for and implementing best practices for DevOps, Continuous Delivery, including automated testing (BDD, TDD), build and deployment pipelines, and observability.
  • Developing automation strategies to monitor and adjust performant cloud solutions.
  • Developing and maintaining data security processes to ensure networks, data stores, and applications remain secure.
  • Assisting with technical problem-solving and providing technical guidance to other engineers and teams across the organization.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and training them on best practice, cloud technologies, software architecture, and tools.
  • Acting as a point of escalation during incidents, helping to resolve issues and risks.
  • Staying up to date with cloud industry trends, technologies, and market changes.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a cloud, platform, or DevOps role.
  • Proven ability to manage and drive change in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to present to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in designing and managing cloud networks, architectures, applications, and services on AWS.
  • Expertise in DevOps culture and CI/CD practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of automation, orchestration, container, and serverless technologies.
  • Experience in incident and issue management.
  • Understanding of site reliability engineering, observability data types (logs, metrics, and tracing) and experience with related tooling.
