
Disability Support Specialist

Key Responsibilities:- Conduct statutory assessments under relevant legislation, ensuring comprehensive understanding of child welfare and protection.
- Develop, review, and implement individualized plans tailored to each child's specific needs.
- Collaborate closely with families to promote independence and enhance life outcomes.
- Build effective relationships with schools, healthcare professionals, and other support services to coordinate integrated care.
- Pursue direct work with children and young people, utilizing suitable communication strategies to foster meaningful connections.
- Prepare reports for Child Protection Conferences, Looked After Reviews, and legal proceedings, demonstrating expertise in case management.
- Maintain accurate and timely records using designated software systems.
- Participate actively in team meetings, supervision, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Qualified Social Worker (registered with relevant governing bodies).
- Experience working with children who have disabilities or complex needs.
- Strong assessment, communication, and interagency collaboration skills.
- Thorough understanding of applicable legislation and safeguarding procedures.
- Enhanced DBS clearance and full UK driving license.
