Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trade Qualified individual to join our team as a Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Specialist.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of heavy vehicles, maintaining them to a high standard and ensuring they are safe for operation. You will be responsible for identifying and addressing any faults or issues that arise, working closely with your supervisor to rectify problems efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain assigned heavy vehicles to a safe and presentable standard, adhering to relevant regulations and company servicing schedules.
  • Work closely with sub-contractors to ensure they operate in accordance with agreed vehicle maintenance standards and safety protocols.
  • Diligently attend and participate in all training programs conducted or organised by the Company, or by suppliers requesting such training on behalf of the Company.
  • Full cooperation with reasonable instructions issued by authorised representatives of Roads & Maritime Services and compliance with all of the Company's policies, procedures, and safety management systems.
  • Active identification and assistance in eliminating any unsafe or unhealthy conditions, practices, or behavior in the workplace.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Trade qualification in a relevant field (e.g. diesel mechanics).
  • Extensive knowledge of bus fleet maintenance.
  • Physically fit.
  • Knowledgeable of WHS requirements within a heavy vehicle repair workshop.
  • Holding a minimum MR drivers licence.
  • Effective verbal communication, written communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and workshop equipment.
  • Able to identify safety issues.
