We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join our team at Ausnet Services. As a key member of our Western Renewable Link project, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient delivery of large and intricate design packages, managing multiple work streams, and ensuring alignment with design specifications, timeframes, and budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and oversee the delivery of Protection, Control & Communication systems (Secondary) designs to meet quality, completion, and project objectives.
- Monitor design partners' performance within the EPC contractor, ensuring deliverables are met while controlling costs and timeframes.
- Lead the design approval process for greenfield and brownfield terminal station design packages, adhering to project requirements and schedules.
- Provide technical guidance and manage responses to queries during design and construction phases for terminal station packages, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Manage design costs to meet project requirements and demonstrate commercial and contractual awareness in client and partner interactions.
- Contribute to new business opportunities, continuous improvement in design standards, and broader business activities.
- Manage client and stakeholder expectations, communicate effectively with the project team, and ensure compliance with Ausnet Services policies and Safety in Design requirements.
- Tertiary Qualification in Architecture, Building, Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or extensive experience in technical management on significant projects, design or construction.
- Multi-discipline project experience in Building, Construction and Design.
- Proven commercial and legislative compliance skills and design frameworks and systems.
- Demonstrated competencies in Head Contract and Subcontract understanding and interpretation.
- Strong stakeholder management with major consultant partners.
- Awareness of risk management principles and how design can impact operational risk.
- Proficient skills in relevant computer software packages and necessary to perform the role.
- Strong time and cost management skills in timely delivery of design and management of both the costs of preparing design and the costs of the works.
