A leading mining corporation is seeking a Senior Closure Project Lead to advance innovative closure solutions, including digital, sensing, and automation projects.

About the Role

This role will involve collaborating with an R&D team to drive safer, more efficient, and cost-effective approaches for environmental management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing remote sensing, automation, and digital twin development projects to deliver business outcomes.
  • Leading and coordinating project stages from concept through MVP validation for multiple programs within the Closure R&D portfolio.
  • Shaping, scoping, and managing studies and trials, creating business cases and budget plans.
  • Implementing project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) to oversee schedules and budgets.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering (e.g. systems, robotics, automation, computer science, etc.).
  • Capacity of handling portfolios of various projects in different stages and subjects.
  • Demonstrated experience of influencing key stakeholders in a large, cross-functional environment.
  • Robust commercial and contractual acumen for the establishment of R&D and intellectual property/technology commercialisation partnerships.

What We Offer
