Shangri-La Cairns, a luxury five-star hotel located in the heart of Cairns, is seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Team Leader to join their leadership team.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, with experience in managing F&B teams and ensuring exceptional service quality.

About the Role

This is a dynamic opportunity for a motivated individual to work across multiple F&B outlets, including The Backyard, The Kiosk, The Pool Bar, and Conferences and Events. As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for maximizing profits, maintaining food, beverage, and service quality, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the Supervisor/Manager to perform daily shift opening and closure responsibilities.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience as a Team Leader or within a leadership role;
  • Is able to obtain comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the F&B offerings and processes within their appointed section;
  • Can become familiar with, observe, and ensure that all employees in the Backyard follow F&B policies and procedures;
  • Can maintain a consistently high standard of professional appearance as per Shangri-La's presentation guidelines;
  • Can monitor and ensure smooth operation of the section appointed (restaurants / banquet / beverage / mini bar / in room dining - as applicable);
  • Can maintain consistency in quality of food and beverage/service/cleanliness of sections appointed;
  • Can obtain customer feedback during operations to ensure satisfaction;
  • Can handle complaints with the assistance of Supervisors and Managers as appropriate to ensure the correct follow-up and reporting processes are adhered to;
  • Has restaurant A La Carte experience;
  • Exhibits professionalism and pride within their personal grooming;
  • Has valid working rights in Australia;
  • Has a current RSA Certificate;
  • Is flexible to work Morning, Afternoon and Evening Shifts across a 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays;
  • Has experience in processing payments and handling cash and card transactions;
  • Displays high motivation and energy with the desire to deliver excellent guest experiences.
