Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Property lawyer to join our team as an Associate or Senior Associate. The successful candidate will be part of our Band 1 ranked Intellectual Property and Patent Attorney team.

About the Role

• You will work closely with Partners and the wider team across offices to gain exposure to complex contentious, regulatory and commercial transactions in the Australian market.
• You will be involved in a range of IP work including patents, trade marks, copyright, designs, Australian Consumer Law, brand protection, anti-counterfeiting, confidential information and trade secrets enforcement, litigation, regulatory, IP licensing and transactional matters.
• You will collaborate with the integrated Patent Attorneys team to advise on the entire life cycle of IP assets, including registration, opposition, portfolio management, acquisitions, litigation, and enforcement.

Your Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years experience working in private practice in an intellectual property team in Australia.
• Experience working on a range of IP work such as contentious patents, trade marks, copyright, confidential information, designs, IP licensing and M&A transactions.
• Ability to delegate work and supervise junior lawyers.
• Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong drafting skills.
• Desire to learn, grow, network and mentor others.
