**Education Consultant: Student Services Portfolio**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Education Consultant to join our team at the Association of Independent Schools NSW. As an Education Consultant, you will play a critical role in supporting our member schools to implement whole-school, evidence-based approaches to wellbeing for students, teachers, and leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver components associated with the Whole-school Wellbeing initiative
  • Design and facilitate effective professional learning for staff in independent schools, including face-to-face and online sessions
  • Develop associated resources and focus areas, such as whole-school approaches to wellbeing, social and emotional learning, positive classroom practices, and trauma-informed practices
  • Respond to a diverse and varied range of specific school and individual student matters via a dedicated intake service
  • Advising and assisting schools with the development of Individual Plans relating to accessing curriculum, behaviour support, mental health, and health care
  • Undertake risk assessment planning in collaboration with schools
  • Facilitate attendance planning meetings, including Compulsory Attendance Conferences
  • Support schools to implement components of the AISNSW Behaviour Support and Student Engagement framework
  • Contribute to a range of strategic projects and priorities within the Portfolio
  • Represent AISNSW and the independent school sector on committees and in various forums in a professional manner
Requirements
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality, discretion, and deal respectfully with sensitive student matters and personal information
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Australian Student Wellbeing Framework
  • Understanding of effective approaches to promote mental health and wellbeing within the context of a multi-tiered system of supports
  • Ability to identify links between wellbeing and curriculum
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, including disability legislation
  • Confidence to deliver and ability to engage groups of adult learners in professional learning experiences via a range of modes
  • Capacity to fulfill an instructional leadership/coaching role when guiding and advising schools
  • Deep understanding of curriculum delivery, adjustments, and inclusive practices
  • Desire to be open-minded, adaptable, and solutions-focused when collaborating with schools around multifaceted student matters
