We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Child Welfare Specialist to join our team in Mount Isa, working within our Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Service.

About the Role

In this full-time, permanent position, you will focus on providing holistic case management and delivering support to vulnerable children and adolescents who have witnessed or experienced domestic and/or family violence and sexual abuse.

  • You will provide specialist interventions, including case planning, risk assessment, and support services to promote the health, safety, and development of clients.
  • Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring the voices of children and young people are heard and their needs met.
  • You will work collaboratively with a small team to deliver best practice responses to women and children experiencing DFV.
Key Responsibilities

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing individualised case plans to meet client needs and goals.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
  • Providing education and training to colleagues and community stakeholders on DFV-related issues.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in child and adolescent welfare, preferably with experience in trauma-informed practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to DFV and child protection.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritising tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
