Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Team Lead to support our Australian Investment Accounting team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and tax reporting to a diverse range of investment manager and superannuation fund clients. You will also serve as an escalation point for client queries and work closely with other teams to achieve client reporting objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze financial statements and templates to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Deliver training and coaching to junior team members to ensure knowledge sharing and skill development
  • Collaborate with other teams to achieve client reporting objectives, including Unit Pricing, Business Process Analysts, Client Services, Operations, and Technology
  • Work closely with the Financial Reporting and Tax manager on new product developments and process improvement projects
  • Manage the new client onboarding process as it relates to financial reporting and tax
  • Provide oversight of offshore teams' output and performance
  • Ensure sufficient risk management controls are in place and adhered to Northern Trust compliance standards
  • Act as an escalation point for client queries
  • Organize and attend year-end planning meetings with clients
About You

We are looking for a highly experienced professional with a strong background in financial reporting and tax. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working within a custodian, superannuation fund, or investment manager accounting/tax team. You will possess a high-level understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax rules as they relate to managed investment schemes and superannuation funds. Proficiency in Excel and an accounting/finance degree qualification are also essential.
