Job Summary:

This is a contract-based role for a Rig Mechanic to work on land drilling rigs in the Surat Basin. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of drilling equipment, adhering to company policies and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on land drilling rigs, including troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
  2. Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and government regulations pertaining to the worksite.
  3. Conduct testing of systems as required and preplan operational needs.
  4. Report all accidents, near-miss accidents, non-conformances, and safety hazards to the immediate superior.
  5. Train junior members of the staff to service and repair mechanical equipment.
  6. Ensure all employees are working safely and are aware of any potential hazards.
  7. Service and manage Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) in accordance with OEM guidelines.

Requirements:

  1. Valid Heavy Equipment Mechanic Journeyman's certification or country-specific equivalent.
  2. Valid Mechanical Trade Certificates (Diesel) Mandatory.
  3. Valid passport, open, manual driver's license, and willingness to travel.
  4. Additional certificates highly desirable, including Drilling and Completions General Induction (DCGI) or Industry Safety Induction (ISI).
