Facilities Maintenance Role

Clean and maintain public areas in a hotel, including rooms, corridors, restrooms, restaurants, and banquet halls.

  • Clear floors, dust furniture and fixtures, and polish metalwork.
  • Vacuum and polish elevators, and keep the front of the hotel free from litter.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors, as well as clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts, collect solid linen supplies, and remove trash collected by room attendants.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all instructions from supervisors and managers are respected and followed.
  • Log and inform managers of any system errors or defective equipment.
  • Follow all grooming, performance standards, workplace health and safety, emergency procedures, and property policies and procedures.
  • Report any health or safety incidents, injuries, or unsafe working environments to managers or supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a facilities maintenance staff in a hotel (no experience can be trained).
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, time management, customer service, organization, multitasking, and general safety knowledge.

This is a part-time role requiring 10 hours per week. Ability to commute to Southbank, VIC is required. Australian work authorization is preferred, and the role is based on-site.
