Our Boarding House team plays a vital role in supporting each of our international and local boarders in their academic development and personal growth.

The Role of Our Deputy Head of Boarding

At our school, our Deputy Head of Boarding assists in the day-to-day operations and strategic development of the boarding house.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the coaching and managing of staff, rosters, and Boarding House routines.
  • Providing pastoral care, mentoring, and guidance to students.
  • Maintaining high standards of student wellbeing, discipline, and academic engagement.
  • Fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful boarding culture aligned with our school's values.
  • Building strong relationships with families and contributing to the wider school community.
  • Running excursions and in-house activities during weekends, including transporting students in the school minibus.
  • Overnight shifts as per the Roster (weeknights and weekends).

About This Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Head of Boarding to join our vibrant school community.

Key requirements for this role include:

  • Demonstrated experience in a residential, pastoral care or school leadership role.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A calm and proactive leader, capable of managing sensitive issues with discretion.
  • Committed to the development and care of young people.
  • Willingness to contribute to co-curricular or after-hours activities.
  • Current WWCC, National Police Check, and First Aid qualifications.
  • Working knowledge of Child Protection, National Minimum Standards for Boarding Provision ESOS Act, National Standards, and Framework.
  • Cultural awareness and respect to ensure success in a multicultural environment.
  • Full driver's licence and comfort in driving the school minibus.
