ClearCompany seeks an experienced Painter to join their team.
The Role involves applying coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate as well as protect interior or exterior surfaces.
Detailed instructions are provided for surface preparation including smoothing surfaces using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool, removing old paint from surfaces using paint remover, scraper, wire brush, or blowtorch.
A full time position with a salary ranging from $73,500- $75,000 depending on experience plus superannuation.
Responsibilities include:
- Reading blueprints/instructions and examining surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.
- Selecting premixed paints, or mixing required portions of pigment, oil for required colour.
- Painting surfaces according to instructions with various tools like brushes, spray gun and paint rollers.
- Cleaning equipment work areas and adherence to OHS.
- Making on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
The Ideal Candidate has relevant qualifications and at least 2 years' experience in painting role in the painting and decorating industry.
A good understanding of colour theory and various finish types is essential.
