The Role
We are seeking an experienced Claims Team Leader with a strong background in medical negligence, medical malpractice, complex liability, or professional indemnity claims to lead our well-established team of 12 consultants.
You will be responsible for managing a team of claims consultants at varying levels of seniority, providing training, decision approvals, and support on complex and contentious claims, as well as liaising with stakeholders, including doctors, nurses, lawyers, and litigators.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 12 claims consultants in the medical negligence space.
- Provide training, decision approvals, and support to team members on complex and contentious claims.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including doctors, nurses, lawyers, and litigators.
- Ability to understand policy wordings and provide support and advice to policy holders and key claimants.
- WFH flexibility with head office in Sydney 2000.
Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience handling medical negligence, medical malpractice, professional indemnity, or complex liability claims end-to-end for a minimum of 2 years.
- Previous experience managing a team or in people leadership.
- Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Understanding of operational processes and procedures required in team environments.
- Experience in managing claims and stakeholders effectively.
- A team-centric approach to leadership.
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- Great communication skills.
Salary and Benefits
This exciting opportunity offers a salary up to $140,000 + super depending on experience, as well as close proximity to public transport and a hybrid WFH arrangement.
