Role Overview

Latrobe Community Health Service is seeking a skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in supporting vulnerable children and their carers.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with children in out of home care residential units across Inner Gippsland, providing mental health supports and collaborating with the PTGH nurse to ensure the children receive physical and mental health support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the PTGH nurse to provide outreach and mental health support to children in out of home care residential units
  • Develop and implement mental health plans to support children with trauma, risky behaviours, drug and alcohol use, and mental health conditions
  • Work with children and their carers to identify and address mental health needs
  • Collaborate with other health professionals to ensure comprehensive care for children

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Psychology (Masters)
  • AHPRA Registration
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • A current Working with Children Check
