We are seeking a highly skilled Orthoptist to join our esteemed team at the Women's & Children's Health Network (WCHN). The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of exceptional paediatric ophthalmology services, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families. As an Orthoptist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care, including assessing and managing paediatric ophthalmology conditions, contributing to outpatient clinics, and participating in community outreach programs.
Key Responsibilities- Providing expert orthoptic assessments and treatments for children with paediatric ophthalmology conditions
- Contributing to the effective operation of Ophthalmology outpatient clinics
- Participating in community outreach clinics to expand access to specialist screening services
- A degree or Master's Degree qualification in Orthoptics from a recognized institution, entitling registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB)
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in paediatric ophthalmology post-qualification
- Experience in orthoptic assessment procedures and strabismus, amblyopia, ocular motility, refractive error, and visual impairment assessment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- A competitive salary package up to $62,480 per annum (based on a 38-hour week), plus casual loading
