An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Therapy Assistant to join our team as we strive to deliver exceptional care and support to our residents.
This is a casual role, where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our elderly residents.
- Provide mobility and exercise programs to our residents under the direction and supervision of the Physiotherapist, promoting their physical well-being and independence.
- Design and deliver recreational and other therapeutic activity programs to our residents under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist, enhancing their mental stimulation and social interaction.
- Participate in the organisation and planning of therapy programs, ensuring seamless coordination and effective implementation.
- Deliver a range of therapy based activity programs as directed, focusing on individual resident needs and goals.
- Complete accurate documentation in line with relevant guidelines, maintaining high standards of record-keeping and compliance.
- Accompany resident groups on outings, fostering social connections and community engagement.

- Strong organisational and time management skills, enabling you to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
- Excellent customer service skills, providing exceptional care and support to our residents and their families.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coach staff to deliver quality lifestyle and therapy activities, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills, facilitating clear and effective communication with residents, staff, and stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, identifying and resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- A genuine interest in working with older people, understanding their unique needs and preferences.
In order to succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent/higher qualification, demonstrating your competence and expertise in the field.
- Experience in Activity Planning, preferably in an aged care setting, showcasing your ability to design and deliver engaging and meaningful activities.
- Aged Care experience, highlighting your understanding of the sector's challenges and opportunities.
- Empathy with the elderly, demonstrating your compassion and commitment to providing person-centred care.
- Full Australian working rights and ability to pass a national police clearance, ensuring your suitability for the role and adherence to regulatory requirements.
