Six Degrees Executive is proud to partner with a leading Australian manufacturer of water heaters and boilers. This established organisation is a renowned Australian success story, employing 500+ people locally with an annual turnover of $250M. The company has expanded globally, with key markets in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and the US. Our client operates two sides of the business in NSW, encompassing assembly manufacturing and field service technicians.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety professional to join our client's onsite manufacturing leadership team as a HSE Manager. This newly created role will see you provide strategic leadership of HSE for the Australian business, driving all aspects of Health, Safety, and Environment. You will be responsible for providing development, direction, and accountability to the business.
This is an ideal opportunity for a big-picture thinker who understands how the HSE function positively impacts the wider business. As a HSE Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Providing WHSE advice, technical, and management support.
- Establishing, developing, and driving policies and procedures for safety/risk management.
- Managing the company's compliance to AS/NZS 4801 and ISO 14001.
- Initiating and driving safety programs.
- Overseeing environmental compliance, improvement, and reporting.
- Building strong internal relationships with all levels of stakeholders.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A relevant qualification in a HSE discipline (e.g., Cert IV WHS, Diploma, or a technical qualification).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar safety and compliance role, preferably within a manufacturing or technical service environment.
- Commercially minded with a big-picture understanding of the HSE function's role within an organisation.
- Thorough knowledge of HSE legislation, regulations, emerging issues, and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Full Australian working rights and be based in metropolitan Sydney.
